Pedaling in ‘Gritty, Western’ Spokane

When Derek first began riding it was rare to see another road bike in Spokane. Since the ’80s the number of cyclists has grown, but only modestly.  “I think because of the weather here and also just because of the nature of the roads and the drivers it … cuts out the riff raff, you know?” Derek works at an alcohol and drug treatment center and as a bicycle messenger.

    I’m in Portland, I think that is all the answer that is necessary. 😀

      I’ve been to Portland a dozen times but never biked there. I’ll have to make it happen next time I’m out there. Do you feel like it’s the “best” city to bike in?

    After spraying it on yourself, walk around for a few hours and shop in other stores while waiting for it to settle into your skin.
