While River was riding her bike in San Francisco, thieves looking for cash ripped her panniers off. After the incident, she decided she needed one more lock.

    When I commuted in SF by bike in the early 90s I had two great stumpjumpers stolen. The third I took up the elevator to the place I worked and parked in my cube. Fixed. t

      Ah agreed. I’m surprised more people don’t use folding bikes in the city. Then again, maybe they do, I just don’t see them locked up to poles.
