Theresa Burkes is an artist and fine arts major at Boise State. She worked as a software engineer and project manager at IBM and HP before returning to school. “A lot of my instructors have told me, ‘Oh you can’t be an artist and be a mathematician,’ but its not true,” she says. “There is creative work in all fields. And mathematics is a very creative field.”
